St. Mary’s – China 2016 Graduates Gain Admission to Top US Universities, Liberal Arts Colleges

For the 104 graduating students across five St. Mary’s campuses in China, spring is an exciting time of completing final academic and extracurricular projects, enjoying time with friends, and eagerly anticipating admissions decisions from colleges and universities across the United States and world.

With notifications now in, the St. Mary’s Class of 2016 has gained acceptance to a diverse array of America’s finest colleges and universities, from large research universities in California to small liberal arts colleges on the East Coast.

“Our students at St. Mary’s campuses in China share a genuine passion for learning and a commitment to their communities that shines through in their application materials,” said Doreen Liu, Director of College Counseling for the network. “Their academic interests and professional goals are as diverse as the institutions to which they have applied.”

Success with US News and World Report Top 50 National Universities: Over one quarter of the class (27%) has received admissions offers to universities ranked among US News and World Report’s Top 50 National Universities:

Large US Research Universities Dominate Institution Mix: Three in four admissions offers received by the class (75%) were from large US research universities such as Emory, Wake Forest, and the University of California system, among many others. The remaining offers are from US liberal arts colleges such as Bucknell, Lafayette, and Union (11%); universities outside the US such as York University, the University of Melbourne, and the University of British Columbia (9%); and US art institutes such as Savannah College of Art and Design, Parsons, and Pratt (5%).

Institutions across the US Recognize the Quality of Our Graduates: US institutions extending admissions offers span the US from coast and coast, and include urban, suburban, and rural settings.

Among the 100 institutions admitting members of the St. Mary’s – China class of 2016 are:

St. Mary’s of Medford, Oregon was founded in 1865, and launched its first branch campus in China in 2012 in partnership with Massachusetts-based educational group KnowledgeLink. The network has thrived, growing to five full high school campuses (grades 10-12) in Guiyang, Pinghu, Shanghai, Shunde, and Wuhan, and a newly-established Zhengzhou campus (grade 10) in 2015-2016.

随着暑假的悄然结束,我们各校区也迎来了一批来自世界各地的优秀外教老师。为进一步提升教学质量、帮助新教师快速融入校园环境,八月底至九月初,各校区陆续开展了新教师培训活动。
上周五,我们在各个校区组织了特别活动,庆祝国际妇女节并向女教师们致敬。 宁波校区与海曙校区 在宁波和海曙校区,每位女教师都收到了一份精心准备的礼物,包括一个精美的粉色花朵小蛋糕和咖啡券,在她们忙碌的教学日常中带来了笑容和欢乐时刻。
元宵节当晚,宁波肯特校区,海曙校区及周边校区的外教团队及全体员工欢聚一堂,共享团圆时刻。特别令人欣喜的是,我们KL的创始人的Christine也加入了这场欢聚,与大家一同庆祝这个传统佳节。餐桌上的美食,同事间的欢声笑语,不同文化背景的伙伴们因教育理想相聚,因温暖联结相知。

随着我们沉浸在春节的欢乐氛围中,我们很高兴与大家分享我们校园里的一些温馨时刻。我们的外教们积极参与了这些庆祝活动,从诚挚的祝福到传统的书法,他们真正融入了这个特殊节日的丰富文化之中。
