美本最大网申系统Common App迎来五大新变化

2022申请季来了！8月1日，新一轮的Common App申请系统全面开放，意味着，2022er你们要数着DDL过日子了！Common App是美国本科申请三大网申系统之一，也是目前美国大学申请使用人数最多的系统之一，每年超过100万学生通过该系统在线申请大学。

CA通用申请系统的最大特点是，申请人只需填写一份申请表，包括标化成绩、文书、背景活动以及推荐信等，就可以用它来申请多所大学，可以有效节省申请大学的时间。

新申请季Common App五大新变化

1. 现已新增64所高校接受该应用程序；
2. 修改性别选项以更好地代表申请人；
3. 更改公民身份问题以减少访问障碍；
4. 新增个人陈述提示;
5. COVID-19相关选填题部分持续保留。

64所学校新加入系统

今年，共有64所高校新加入Common  App系统。

所有伊利诺伊州公立大学都将使用 Common App，伊利诺伊州成为美国第一个要求其公立四年制大学使用 Common App 的州。

伊利诺伊州立大学招生主任 Jeff Mavros 说道：“允许学生使用 Common App 进行申请将使伊利诺伊州、中西部和全国范围内的学生更容易接触到大学。”

其他Common App 新成员学校包括：

• 詹姆斯麦迪逊大学，弗吉尼亚州雪兰多谷的一所公立大学；
• 普瑞特艺术学院，位于布鲁克林区；
• 波特兰州立大学，位于俄勒冈州的4年制公立学校；
• 阿拉巴马大学，阿拉巴马州历史最悠久、规模最大的公立大学……

此前，Common App官方宣布2021-2022申请季部分板块会做出调整。比如：

1、主文书第4题有改动，变成“Reflect on something that someone has done for you that has made you happy or thankful in a surprising way. How has this gratitude affected or motivated you?”

• 其他6道题目没有变化，并且“额外信息”部分仍然保留COVID-19的备选问题“分享疫情对你个人和学术的影响”：
• Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.
• The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
• Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome?
• Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.
• Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?
• Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you’ve already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design.

2、另外，为了适应越来越多样化的学生，减少偏见或歧视，Common App决定修改部分个人信息问题。

• 比如：公民身份的选项中，“Other (non-US)” 替换成 International students 和 Undocumented/DACA students 两个选项。
• 删除父母和兄弟姐妹相关问题，父母的职业、学历、就业情况相关问题设置为Optional。
• 性别描述部分，用词从 “sex” 改成 “legal sex”。

Common App填写指南

01 以学生身份注册

02 填写信息

注册账户填写基本的信息，如姓名、出生日期、地址、电话、邮箱等等。邮箱就是用户名，Common App也会不定期的给你发一些提醒和更新。

在系统中，你会看到所有的信息集中在一起，一次性就能填写完成。

首先就是注册邮箱、密码，需要注意的是：

1. 不使用奇怪的邮箱名称/地址，美高学生建议Gmail，国内学生建议163邮箱；
2. CA对密码有比较严格的要求，密码不符合要求无法进行到下一步，详细要求如下：

• 10-32位长度
• 至少一个大写字母
• 至少一个小写字母
• 至少一个数字
• 至少一个特殊符号! @ # $ % ^ & *
• 无空格键

随后我们填写姓名、性别、住址、生日、入学信息等，完成注册。

03 添加大学名单

通过名字搜索大学，点击左边【+】号就能添加大学。以哈佛大学为例：

选择完一所学校之后，可以继续添加其他学校，或者点击学校名称/点击右侧的按钮/在My Colleges中查看已添加的学校信息。

新版的Common系统中，学校搜索更加方便，学校信息介绍也会更加全面，让申请方便了不少。
